Comments Thread For: Photos: J’Leon Love vs. Chris Pearson Sparring in Vegas

Step inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas on any given day and you will see your share of prospects eyeing their next move.

During a recent swing through the gym, I caught some action between two undefeated hopefuls in middleweight prospect J’Leon Love (14-0, 8 KO’s) and junior middleweight prospect Chris Pearson (7-0, 6 KO’s).

Sparring four-minute rounds, the action was tactical with some spirited exchanges mixed in. [Click Here To Read More]

Still not sold on Love. Wasn't too impressed last I saw him. He boxed well, but nothing elite jumped out about him to me. He's still green though. Maybe he'll make a believer out of me.

Are you talking about the fight on Fox Sports? If so then I thought thats the best hes looked. But you never know with these prospects. I think technically hes one of the best young fighters out there behind Gary Russell Jr (way behind). I think his shoulder roll fighting style is a lot closer to Floyds than Broners. He has Floyds jab and checkhook. He doesnt have Broners punching power for his weight. I think hes a little undersized for 160. I would like him a lot more if he was fighting at 154.

I believe it was his fight against Hunter. You bring up a good point, it may have been his lack of pop that left me with that impression TBH. Haymon prospects always get more hype than most too so I am always a little bit more skeptical anyway.

I'd like to see Love step up against a Rubio, Zbik, Lee, Lemieux, etc.
