Anyone ever read the boxing manga(comic) Hajime No Ippo?

I used to when I was a freshman in high school and watching Pac-Marquez it immediately came back into my memory. I want you to pay attention to this man . His name is Miyata Ichiro. He isn't a big puncher, he has plenty of stamina issues, and he doesn't exactly have an iron chin. What he does have is otherworldly speed and innate ability to COUNTER punch. His most infamous punch is a "Jolt Counter." A counter in which he leans his entire body into the punch while his foe is punching at him. It is incredibly difficult to do, the timing has to be perfect and the accuracy has to be spot on.This is EXACTLY what Marquez hit Pac with. Even if you aren't a big puncher, leaning your ENTIRE body into a counter while using your'e opponent's strength against them to double the damage has resulted in the EXACT type of flat on your face KO that happened last night. Pretty epic ****.

I went to youtube "Jolt Counter" and come to find out someone had the same idea I did lol(ignore the ****ty music)

Yeah I used to read this manga and watch the anime as well, great stuff. And yeah the Miyata/Ippo rivalry can be compared to the Marquez/Pacquiao rivalry.

Except that Marquez is a pretty big puncher and he's never had a bad stamina. 40 Kos in 60 fights, that's a lot of knockouts right there. Also, I don't know who else has been able to knock out their oppents in the later rounds like Marquez has. It's just a bad comparison.

Did you actually read the thread? lol I didn't say Marquez was like Miyata I said the JOLT COUNTER that Marquez hit Pac with made me think of the manga and Miyata's Sunday punch.

No im not a 12 year old white kid who pretends he's japanese.

Let me guess, your goal in life is to go to Japan and teach English for $15k a year while pursuing your Japanese acting or drawing skills?

Cant believe someone like you made this thread.
