Evander Holyfield has saved, for now, 12 treasured mementoes from being auctioned text week.

Hundreds of items from the former heavyweight champion’s collection will go up for sale but Holyfield has obtained a court ruling that excludes a dozen.

"Though the judge approved a temporary restraining order to exclude just 12 items from our November 30 auction, we will continue with the auction where we will be selling over 400 lots of Holyfield memorabilia," the chief of the auction house said on Thursday.

Just ran into Evander last May at a burger joint with his kids. Didn't seem to look bothered with all the financial problems.

It's sad to see this happening to him though.

its way different for evander cuz most mainstream ppl don't know who the hell he is nor do they care....on the other hand, EVERYONE in america knows who mike tyson is and he's a recognizable face...therefore he can easily find work, making guest apperances on day time talk shows, late night talk shows, cameos in movies, cameos in tv shows, hell he even did his las vegas one man show for christ sake, the possibilities for mike tyson are endless...holyfield can't do any of those things, hundreds of years from now ppl are only gonna remember him as the guy who got his ear bitten by tyson, im not bashing holyfields name, he's one of my favorite fighters, im just speaking the cold, honest truth....most ppl don't know who he is

Evander was hoping for that one big shot from a Klitschko when instead he should have been looking for work as a trainer or a broadcaster. Sure its less money, but its more reliable then waiting and hoping for a big payday.
