Valuev Gives Belt Back To Ruiz

Newly crowned WBA heavyweight champion Nicolay Valuev, gave John Ruiz an early Christmas gift - his WBA heavyweight title.

Apparently the waist of Valuev is so big, he was unable to strap on his new title. Valuev told the BBC that the WBA is constructing a new championship belt for him.

"It wasn't big enough — it didn't fit around my waist. They're having to make me a larger one." said Valuev

Valuev's gift does not have John Ruiz smiling. The camp of Ruiz is planning to appeal the verdict of the Valuev bout to the WBA. In the alternative, Ruiz is requesting an immediate rematch.
