According to World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman, WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will be given the option of having a voluntary defense before having to fight the winner of the upcoming final eliminator between Vanes Martirsoyan (32-0, 20 KOs) and Erislandy Lara (17-1-1, 11 KOs). Won't be long now. Lara and Vanes must be desperate as hell to get in the ring. WBC would look like total jackasses to go back on their own ruling. Ladies and Gentlemen, Canelo vs. Lara/Vanes will happen!

If he doesn't fight any big names or a legit 150 pounder he is more of a ***** then what he already is

Wow that is surprising lol, he probably wouldn't have fought the winner next anyway since he seems to have his eyes set on bigger names so this would avoid that whole fiasco, but still dudes get stripped after months and I don't even know the last time Canelo saw his mandatory.

Alert, alert Paper champion gets to avoid his mandatory....

LOL, not surprised. When he gets a look at Martirosyan's face after the fight, he's going to want to take a longer "break".

It says that Rhodes was his last mandatory, back in June 2011. At least WBC isn't being their usual corrupted self and is doing right by their fighters. Best boxing news I've heard in a minute.
