It's tragic for the boxing world to lose someone like Steward whose love for the sport shined in his fighters as well as his commentary on HBO. He produced so many great fighters and resurrected more than a few HOF careers especially in the HW division with Holyfield, Lewis and Klitschko. I loved listening to him approach the fight game both as a fan and an expert analyst on all of the HBO broadcasts. Even better was listening to him get fired up in the corner with his fighters, more recently when urging Wlad to be more aggressive in the Brock fight. The kind of passion that he showed for the game is what keeps boxing my number one sport, despite all of its faults.
In such a beautiful, brutal and unforgiving sport where a single loss can send so many fighters reeling into obscurity, Emmanuel Steward will always be remembered and revered as an iconic figure.
R.I.P. Manny, boxing won't be the same without you.
