Maybe that's the fee for both the Mathebula fight and Nishioka fight and why he didn't get the belt. And is the price of the belt extra from the santioning fee? Sanctioning bodies don't have set fees. They charge a percentage of a fighter's purse. 42k of 750k(that's Donaire's purse) is 5.6% of the purse. If it is for both fights, then I believe 3% is supposed to be a normal percentage.

On a side-note, leading up to the fight there was no news that this fight was also for the RING ****zine title; although it has lost some of its recognition lately it is still a title considered far more important than the ABC titles.
According to the latest RING ratings, Donaire is recognised as the RING champion.
Seems like he lost one paper belt (IBF) and gained another (WBC Diamond Belt) whilst also earning a far more important trinket (RING ****zine).

The sanctioning bodies have no interest in having the best fighter as champion. They will strip champions as they wish even if the fighter never loses in the ring. They are a business and have no time for what is right and no concerns for legacy. Only money in the bank. About time the fans dumped them!
