It seems to me that 2009 was a low point in Miguel's career (coming off the Margarito loss and a poor performance against Clottey), while Manny was at his absolute peak.

Right now, it seems Cotto has gained a step with a great corner and a new weight class. Manny is not as good as he was in 2009. And given that the fight takes place at 154, I'd say it's a pick 'em fight.

I really don't believe Cotto can sustain that game plan against PAC....Let's also not forget Cotto does not respond well to pressure..

True, but we're talking about Cotto at 154 versus the Pacman that Bradley fought. You know, the Pacman that won't fight this very same version we're discussing, lol!!

Do you not think the 10oz gloves would help Cotto's defense?

My opinion is..it will go 12 rounds..and would end in a very 7-5 type of fight..I think if there is no catchweight and 10 oz gloves are used then that would even alot of things out,

okay, i would have to agree with most of what you have said regarding cotto's mental toughness, yes he doesnt have the patience to do what the people wants him to do effectively against pac.. he would eventually give in to the fire inside him and would fold against pressure.

but I totally disagree with you about the bradley fight, where you said it has nothing to do with manny's decline..

pac wont fight cotto at 154 for his own reasons, but in my judgement he'd still beat him..

cotto's disciplined jab that the people were talking about were all getting countered by pac's right hooks in their first fight in the first two rounds.. styles make fights, and he's just not going to be effective against manny anytime anywhere even at this point of their careers.. jmm beat pacquiao out of patience and strategical feints and counters (we saw that from a very detailed explanation from boxing fury) and i don't see being healthy, bigger and jabbing thing there that could beat pac.

cotto dont have that kind of mentality, he is someone who believes he is strong, and would put fuel to the fire.. yes he would be careful against manny the second time around, but he wont do that the whole twelve and would also love to take his chances to hurt packy and that would leave holes for pacquiao...

cotto's only advantage is his size. so the 154 limit is to his advantage. this might be the reason pac's camp is not very confident of fighting him there, imo!

one thing people are forgetting is that Pac hasnt shown he has the punching power now hat he had against catchweight cotto. where did all his power go?
