Firstly, Dirrell didnt beat Froch. He would have taken the decision were it not for his retreat tactics that drew admission of defeat from his own trainer and manager, no less.
I (and many, many others) are opposed to a rematch because Dirrell made that fight sleep enducingly boring. Run, run, run, that’s all he did. It was a horrendous advertisement for boxing.
Another reason is because of his CLEAR get out clause against AA. I absolutely refuse to believe that the rabbit punch effected him as much as he claimed. Seeing him roll about and twitch was embarrassing. He clearly wanted a way out. The annoying thing was until he started getting tired and caught, he was boxing beautifully! Dirrell’s problem is that when someone cracks him on the mooey, his heart just breaks, he wants out. FAST. A man of such DNA – no matter how talented – has no place in a boxing ring.
I respect just about every boxer for simply having the courage to get in the ring, but truthfully Andrew Dirrell is the only boxer i don’t respect.
