Comments Thread For: Argenis Mendez Now Fully Focused on Salgado Rematch

In a fight that started strong and grew nasty, 26-year old Dominican Jr. Lightweight Argenis Mendez (20-2, 10 KO) of Brooklyn, New York, scored a unanimous decision rematch victory over 32-year old Martin Honorio (32-8, 16 KO) of Mexico City, Mexico, on Saturday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Mendez initially defeated Honorio on a majority decision in 2010. Mendez secured a mandatory rematch title opportunity against IBF 130 lb. titlist Juan Carlos Salgado (25-1-1, 16 KO). Salgado lost a close decision win to Salgado in September 2011, scoring a knockdown in the final round.

smh is right! The previous posters making those negatrive comments are nothing but haters. If anyone thought that fight with Honorio was boring then they might as well switch over to watching wrestling. They can't a appreciate a well skilled boxer that's all. Haters!

I've watched Boxing for over 25 years and Honorio throws punches like a rank amateur and Mendez is a boring fighter. I'll stick to exciting fights, you go watch a plant grow.

I love how some people have to throw their credentials out there like somehow that qualifies them to be judges of whether a fight is exciting or not. Listen, everyone has an opinion and that's fine but don't act like yours is fact. It's my opinion that Argenis is not a boring fighter although I really think he needs to let his hands go more. Also, he used to really be a good body puncher and now it seems he has left that behind which I think is a bad idea. That's all I have to say about this.

It's a fact that I and others find him boring. Live with it or take Prozac. Now go back to watching a tree grow. I am very qualified to know what I find exciting and what I find boring.
