By Jake Donovan - Argenis Mendez and Martin Honorio prepare for their rematch this evening at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Mendez eked out a majority decision in their May '10 battle, which led to an eventual vacant title shot against Juan Carlos Salgado. The title fight didn't go as well, losing a split decision on the road in Mexico despite dominating the back half of the fight and scoring a knockdown in the final round.
Honorio punched his way back into contention with a split decision win over Fahsai Sakkreerin last December. The veteran held his own against Salgado earlier this year, but fell just short in dropping a majority decision in his last fight.
The rematch airs live on Telefutura's Solo Boxeo series. The televised co-feature pits rising welterweight contender Ed Paredes against battered former 140 lb. titlist Vivian Harris. [Click Here To Read More]
