I have never seen Escobedo fight before and I have to admit that I thought this fight would be another cake walk for Broner against a weak opponent. However, I just looked at their records and I realize that Escobedo has fought much better competition than Broner. Grant it, he has lost two fights that better competition, but at least he has fought them. Broner hasn't fought anyone of note other than Daniel Ponce De Leon. This fight could be really interesting. What I thought would be a mismatch is a fight that I now believe could be a toss up.

Dat is some b.s. broner is talented yes but ****y n arrogant immature young man. He has the unprofessionalis. To come in not half or 1 pound over buy 3. Come on thaats is totally unprofessional. Then have his management apologizse for him. He should personally apologize not only to the sanctioning body bit to his opponent. This guys trash and unprofessional.

lol I called it last night, Broner's a ***n welterweight! At his Q&A yesterday someone asked him what weight he walks around at and he responded "I'd rather not say..hahah" then someone asked him If he thought he could eventually move to welter and he said "I could fight at welter right now if I wanted" That said it all right there for me guy needs to move up to his natural weight now he really should be fighting at 140 but I'd love to see him at 135 vs someone like Lundy should he win next friday...

?400,000? It says that they added $120,000 to the already $180,000 that Escobedo was already receiving, & the last time I checked 120,000 + 180,000=300,000..So ¿How much is he getting? & Broner was supposedly getting $300,000..So ¿are they matching Escobedo's purse to Broner or is Escobedo getting more?

That being said, its another black eye for boxing as now the precedent, now solidified thanks to Broner, is that you can come in overweight, screw up your second chance, but throw money at the problem and you get off scott-free. What this means is that boxers will need less discipline, less rigor, less focus, and less self control then previously because they can throw money around and appease people.
Be wary, I predict that more boxers will come in overweight and just throw money at the system.
I also predict that this is a slippery slope, and soon there will be a high profile time when a boxer is guilty of PED but still fights because they threw enough money at the system.
