Pavlik's a name and would be a tough fight, but he's not in the top 10 at 168. Would November be too soon for him to take on the Abraham vs Stieglitz winner?

Pavlik's not in the Top 10 at 168, has done nothing at 168 and the last legit fight he had he took a beating against Martinez which was 2 years ago.

If he puts some legit wins together, then yes.

But as of right now he's done nothing of note in years.
Pavlik's rated in the Top 10 by all 4 of the major organizations, peaking at No. 5 by the WBO.

His fight was close against Martinez until he got those awful cuts then he seemed lost and got his ass handed to him.

Pavlik is not a great fighter. He never was. But then again, neither is Froch. Not sure why Pavlik needs to "earn" a fight against Froch, given he's not the best guy in his division by a long shot (Andre Ward). Moreover, Froch seems to want this fight too. Can't Froch fight whomever the hell he wants?

As much as I think Pavlik is and always was overrated, compare and contrast the ass-whipping he put on Marco Antonio Rubio with JCCjr.'s performance against Rubio. That JCCjr. gets any credit for that win is puzzling to me. Pavlik just destroyed Rubio and showed what happens when Rubio runs up against real power at 160. JCCjr simply outmuscled the smaller guy and was nowhere near as impressive.

I think the plan is for Froch to rematch both Bute and Kessler next year, so I wouldn't be unhappy with a Pavlik fight in the meantime. Pavlik's certainly not the best opponent at 168, but he's decent enough and this is likely to be a good, high contact fight.

props to him though keep fighting the best
This IS a tune up because Pavlik is not one of the best at 168.

another one sided beatdown win for Froch
Pavlik is done, but he might have enough to make it exciting
feed him to Froch, would be happy to see him get smashed

Froch takes a good punch. It would not be smart to take Froch to the scorecards in England.

Make it happen. I noticed Arum mentioned trying to get Kessler or Bute for Pavliks next fight. Wonder if he left Froch's name out on purpose or accident?

Either way it would be competitive. Froch is slow and ready to be hit. Just like Pavlik likes them.
