The link you provided was just after the first fight. After that De La Hoya said he wanted it and they gave Floyd the $20 mill guarantee offer. That is why he took the Stevie Forbes fight on HBO as opposed to PPV as a tune up once Floyd Jr. said he would take the fight. The deal was done but not signed, even Ellerbe was shooting his mouth off that Floyd would end the fight early this time to leave no doubts. ODLH did an interview before the Pacquiao fight where he said the fight was all but signed and they sent a contract to Floyd, but once Jr. saw that Sr. would be training Oscar he backed out and announced his retirement. Floyd is the one that backed out, not Oscar. Fact.

Before: I will be brutal on everyone.

                      During: I need bottled water.

Post: I'm retire again, boxing is too brutal. I need to self preservation.
