Superstar musicians Drake and Chris Brown have been purportedly offered $1 Million USD each to settle their latest dispute in a boxing ring.
Move over Chisora and Haye... A new glass-throwing controversy has erupted.
Early last Thursday morning at the W.I.P. Club in Manhattan, NYC, the entourages of hip-hop stars Drake and Chris Brown were involved in an altercation resembling a barroom brawl. Several people were injured including San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker who said he had to have an operation to remove a shard that had "penetrated 99 percent" of his eye.
According to rumors, bitter rivals Brown and Drake, with their respective entourages, were dining at separate tables in what was described as a jovial setting before bedlam broke lose.
Chris Brown, in perhaps an act of goodwill, sent an expensive bottle of champagne to Drake's table. Moments later a note was returned to Brown, allegedly from Drake, boasting of his ***ual exploits with Brown's ex-girlfriend and love interest, Rihanna.
The 'We Found Love' singer allegedly suggested Chris Brown and Drake should fight for her in a boxing ring.
For the last couple of years, Brown and Drake have been at odds over Rihanna, who had a romantic affair with Drake after dumping Brown when the latter assaulted her three years ago.
The response Brown received after the champagne gift, obviously not exactly a warm and fuzzy 'thank you,' angered Brown who left his table to confront Drake. With the men at close quarters, Drake allegedly welcomed Chris Brown with a punch and a major brawl between the two entourages ensued.
But according to E! Online, Drake insists he had no role in the altercation.
A rep for Drake told E! News in a statement: "Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began."
As a result last week's high-profile confrontation and the obvious, pre-existing bad blood between the two superstars, Damon Feldman of Celebrity Boxing, via billionaire Alki David, has allegedly offered Drake and Chris Brown $1 Million USD apiece to fight as boxers.
The proposed date is August 25 and the venue is Staples Center in Los Angeles. The proceeds, if the bout happens, will be donated to charities that help abused women.
Feldman told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Obviously they have a grudge. It's just three one-minute rounds. No one will get seriously hurt."
