No way. Chavez is an animal, no way Cotto can keep him off of him. And he can't move well enough for 12 rounds to box.

HA I don't even remember how to take it off. Although I'd still take those odds.

andy lee has always been c level, andy lee is a garbage fighter with decent "looking" potential (& always has been) he gasses & he's very fragile. thats why i wanted the kid chocolate/lee fight to come off because lee would have been ko'd within 3 rounds, exposing him.

chavez does not put on relentless pressure (& never will) only a noob who've never really studied chavez jr. would think this.

chavez jr's pressure comes in SPURTS (he's no margarito) which is a ******ed game plan & will get you hurt against cotto. you have to be a VOLUME pressure fighter, this is what you all are missing.
ur right, he's no margarito, but I don't think he'd need to be to beat cotto. at 160, hypothetically speaking, a chavez body shot will take a lot more out of him than margarito would in my eyes. I don't think he'll need to throw as much. Chavez isn't the greatest fighter, I'm not tryna make him into something he's not, but he is effective with his shots - he hurts his opponents (recently at least). I don't see a smaller cotto escaping or shrugging off shots that bigger men have been effected by. cotto as it is doesn't handle pressure well, with a guy stalking forward, taking his best shots (btw, i can't imagine cotto packing anything near a hard punch at 160) like nothing and digging in his body...i think cotto wins the early rounds but gets systematically broken down, starts to move a lot slower and chavez more or less begins to trap him and unload. cotto's no slouch, he could make this go to a decision, but it's questionable to me.

I broke down the bute vs froch fight in a similar manner months ago before it even happened because EVERYONE was claiming that bute was gonna savagely ud or ko froch...........i knew this was ******ed.
c'mon man this means nothing. we all have predictions that are near spot on and while our next one might be completely off. maybe ur right this time, but honestly, i don't think we ever find out.

how do u see the chavez-martinez fight playing out?

I love cotto, and he has better skills than chavez jr. but no, he ain't beatin that big ass chavez.. chavez would pressure him, cotto may use the back foot but then it'll be too much for him..

If he fights him like he did Margarito in part II(punch, clinch, run, repeat). His problem would be doing it while avoiding the ropes for a full 12 rounds.
