As far as the fight being in Oakland, I can see some people *****ing about it. I'd rather see a more "neutral" site myself, but hey, Adamek has fought at the Prudential Center eight fucking times, so it's not exactly like Ward is the only one doing it.

Now add to that Dawson having to go down in weight, and that is a lot to give up.

But if Dawson pulls out the victory, then it's just that much more impressive.

If Chad Dawson successfully moves down in weight and beats one of the true elite fighters in the world in his own backyard, then he has a legitimate claim to the P4P throne, in my opinion.

Maybe not No. 1 but definitely top five. Coming down to a weight he hasn't fought close to in 6 years, fighting an undefeated World Champion in his backyard deserves anyones respect. I'm still dubious that he'll make the weight. 170 would have been fairer but Ward calls the shots at the moment.

This is 1 of the most important fights in boxing. I hope that it's realized.

you know what it says on the back of chad dawsons trunks? "CHAMPIONSHIP BREED". thats what he is, a true champion. even though there are about 49 weightclasses and 87 belts floating around in each one the REAL champions are few and far inbetween.

after suffering his only defeat getting screwed over by the officials in his opponents backyard hes going right back to the lions den. taking on an even tougher challenge this time fighting a much better opponent.

doing it wards hometown aint all though, hes dropping down to a weigh he hasnt fought at in 6 years. a man whos arguably the biggest 175lber in teh world who ****m richardson reffered to as "a CW hiding out in the Lt.HW division".

chad dawson is a true champion, hes one of the best fighters in the world, hes in his prime and hes taking on the best. **** all that boxing is dead bull****, ward-dawson is boxing at its best. with all these supposed "legends" fighting at catchweights, *****ing over half a pound and failing to make fights happen you ppl better appreciate him.

But I don't see that as a factor, I'd make Ward the clear favorite. More than likely it goes the distance............but it's the class level that seems to me like the biggest difference.

Regardless of resumes or opposition faced or any of that.

I view Ward as being almost an entire grade above Dawson.

personally i disagree. I think Dawson is in the same class.

I don't think either of the top two would have a more impressive victory in recent memory, certainly not since Manny tore through( a paste prime) Barrera six years ago.

I won't believe the weight loss isn't an issue until the fight is over and I've seen for myself it wasn't an issue. I hope it isn't, but they really should have had this fight at a catchweight.
