Even though Kirkland had arthroscopic surgery, I do not believe Kirkland will have had enough time to recover.

You have to think that Kirkland figured he may never get "another" shot at the WBC's golden child, so no matter what he had to take this - even if it's clearly not apart of the plan he had set forth previously (comeback in October against a gimme and then fight for a title after). But, he's a warrior and will go into battle even with one arm not up to par. We all seen what kind of monster Kirkland was when he faced Alfredo Angulo and faced adversity, I am very interested to see what kind of animal we get when Canelo puts forth even more adversity.

I hope people here don't start with the shoulder BS if canelo wins. P Williams was a good oponent but we know what happened. Kirkland is dangerous and a worthy oponent. Williams has a loss to Quintana, whom Alvarez would b1tch slap.

BUT people should not underestimate Kirkland. Let's not forget the 'Bute effect' of facing someone that has CV a level above you. Kirkland knows what it's like to be in a war with an elite fighter, Canelo does not.

This is his first true test.....and we cannot predict what happens based on his victories over mosley and other shot fighters.

Exactly...people are just going overboard with this canelo hype. I'm not saying canelo is a bad fighter; I think he has the potential to be a great fighter one day... However fighting nobodies and shot fighters can not all of a sudden prepare you for a strong, prime and hungry fighter like Kirkland. So it should be interesting to see canelo finally fight a top fighter ..
