i gotta give Canelo props for this fight. Usually, when a fighter gets pulled from a card like that, promoters like to throw a softie. last, i'm sure they ran it by Canelo and for him to say '**** it, lets fight kirkland', that gets props from this fight fan

I'm telling you all, Canelo is legit!!! Sure hes not a polished boxer yet, but the kid is only 21!!! And Canelo deserves more credit for taking dangerous fights!!! PWill (God Bless his recovery) wouldve been a very dangerous fight!!! And to try to find a replacement in Kirkland shows how courageous he is!!!! And Canelo is already calling for Floyd n Cotto!!! Unlike Chavez jr, Canelo is trying to fight the best!!!

Anyhow, it's true you have to give the kid respect for having the balls to face Paul Williams (all my best), then facing somebody equally as dangerous in Kirkland at just 21 yrs. old! Not only is that impressive, but it shows a lot about the kids character.

Some people say he has to clean out the division, but that makes no sense. If Canelo beats somebody like Kirkland via KO, it shows he is ready for somebody like Cotto and can potentially get that fight. So why on earth would Canelo fight guys like Lara or Vanes that will not make you the $ or have the ability to catapult you into super-stardom that a Cotto CAN bring IF Canelo beats him? As well as line you up for a shot against P4P King Mayweather? What sane person wouldn't take that route?

Why take the longer route of Kirkland, Lara and Vanes (which nobody has heard of) to get to the same place: Cotto -> Mayweather?
