Comments Thread For: Arum Doesn't Expect Pacquiao To Fight at Marquez's Age

He's already looking past prime even now at 33, he will be unable to fight at Marquez's age competitively like Marquez. He's just not capable, his style is not made to fight competitively at that age. Marquez is an ATG and legend. A 45 year old Marquez would give the current Pacquiao some problems.

Boxing fans didn't expect Arum to still be promoting at his age.

Fighters who rely mostly on speed & power usually have the least longevity. Tacticians like Marquez rely more on timing & skills thus giving them a greater chance of success in their twilight years.

Bob will allow Pac to fight Mayweather late 2013, his last fight.

I think he will still be fighting for money late into his years. His career has that Holyfield feel. I hope not cause its sad to see

Bob Arum is many things but a fool ain't one of them, Manny may fight to long but I don't think he will be around at 38.
