Comments Thread For: Pirog is Expecting a Tough Test From Nobuhiro Ishida

The world middleweight champion of the WBO, Dmitry Pirog (19-0, 15KOs), is expecting a tough fight from the former interim-junior middleweight beltholder Nobuhiro Ishida (24-7-2, 9KOs) of Japan. Piorg defends his title against Ishida on May 1 at the Sport Complex Krylatskoe in Moscow, Russia. If Pirog defeats Ishida, he will head to a possible August unification with IBF champion Daniel Geale of Australia, but the Russian champion is not overlooking Ishida''s challenge. Lol at the comments in this thread. People are actually criticizing Pirog for not underestimating an opponent.

Ishida's a tough guy, hope this is a good fight.

Man so much hate for other fighters taking on crappy comp but pirog takes on some guy who got lucky against Kirkland and all of the sudden he's this beast. This site is getting ridiculous

His going to fight Geale several months after this. He hasn't fought since September. Ishida's actually a decent fight for him.

No he's not. At least not for a title fight. Nobody who lost all 12 rounds of his previous fight should get a title shot. Pirog is just hyping a fight he knows he will dominate, which I guess you have to do when your promoter gives you a set up fight and calls it a title defense

I'm not expecting a tough test from Nobuhiro Ishida. Quite the opposite in fact.

But then again that's why Pirog cherry picked him.
