Comments Thread For: Rios: If Gamboa Still Wants Me, He Has To Go To 140

It’s Fight Week and Brandon Rios remains tight-lipped on what the future has in store. The unbeaten lightweight would rather focus all of his attention on his upcoming April 14 showdown with Richard Abril in Las Vegas. Most of the speculation has centered not so much around who Rios would next face, but at what weight would his future fights take place. It’s hardly a secret that Top Rank hopes to match the Californian up against Juan Manuel Marquez, who appears in a separate bout in Mexico City as part of the evening’s split-site doubleheader.

Dont believe that is unreasonable considering how Gamboa completely dodged Rios when the fight was virtually made.

After the Murray fiasco I dont think Rios should be operating below 140 anyway. Let the fight grow and simmer while Gamboa clears up the lower weights for a year or two.

Don't think Gamboa cares enough about Rios to go all the way up to 140. Think Rios views this much more as a rivalry than Gamboa, by the looks of it, Gamboa just saw Rios as a cash cow. Rios took it personal.

Thats right Rios, forget waiting in place for Gamboa, move on, youll see em later at 140 down the line, thats if Gamboa survives at lighweight. Focus big on taking Abrils head off!

seems like your the idiot here. The fight was made and gamboa had the opportunity to face a weight drained rios. gamboa fuc$ed it all up. Rios had said before, only 1 more fight at 135lb. like mayweather said, "i want to fight my opponent at a weight hes comfortable at" so gamboa should man up and fight rios at 140 if he still wants the fight, otherwise he should stop calling out fighters that look like a dead ghost at the weight ins because of dehydration
