my buddy who's watched the sport for 50years and has hundreds of old boxing tapes and is basically a human encyclopedia on the sport is not a 'true fan' because he doesn't like Floyd's style

go watch floyd baldomir....floyd vs de la hoya was not exciting, nor was the bout vs mosley....he has had a number of exciting fights...corrales comes to mind...castilo to some extent.

I was the lil' dude who sat around the grey heads and watched them play chess in the park during the spring and summer seasons....what Floyd does in the ring is BEAUTIFUL to watch...Floyd takes a few rounds to get you in check...then by midway through its checkmate....if his opponent doesn't have a chance...its not Floyd's duty to give him one...I wish ppl get that in their domes!!

ive know fight fans that have been following the sport for longer than i've been alive and they like what they like

some dont like one-dimensional brawlers, some dont like defensive-minded fighters




their preference over a certain style doesn't make them any less than a 'true' fan

Sounds like a dislike on a personal level. Many Many fighters over the years have hasd similar or employed siomilar styles and tactics to Floyd. Does he not enjoy them either?

People that call Floyd boring are Manny Duckiao fans. Floyd is a proper boxer that has defensive skills that are unrivalled by any other. Pac is just a brawler.

I believe it's because casual fans don't really know much about the sport and don't appreciate the sport. Only TRUE boxing fans respect and appreciate the skills and Mayweather.

boxing means to hit and not get hit. nobody in the sport does that better than mayweather, hense he should be considered one of the most entertaining fighters in the sport.

mayweather is poetry in motion. but casual fans dont know enough boxing to recognize skill when they see it so they dont appreciate him. they dont care about boxing, they want it to be like a rocky movie.

the best fights have skill and drama, floyd doesnt always produce the drama but always skill, so hes always in good fights. sometimes he delivers both and make great fights but hes never boring.

he is only boring because he dominates his fights----it's a trait i would rather have in boxing than any other--too skilled to be exciting--blame his opponents just as much as him--

boring or not, he is the very best of the very best--people seem to forget the gatti fight, the judah fight--the chavez fight--the n'dou fight--the sosa fight---he looked boring against baldomir coz baldomir was too outmatched--so be it--de la hoya was carried in that fight--the hatton fight was what i expected--hatton made that fight boring, not floyd---the marquez fight was pretty exciting to me coz floyd looked so sharp in it and when you can make a marquez fight fight look anything but exciting, the fight is exciting-lol

mosley fight would have been exciting to people on her had floyd went down in the 2nd fight--the fight was very exciting to me coz floyd started landing on shane at will in the late part of round 2 until the end of round 12---

the ortiz fight was exciting coz floyd started landing at will in round 4 and damn near dropped ortiz had he not let up on little vic---ortiz didn't win a single round in that fight and you people know it---the cotto fight will be exciting--floyd is versatile--so he won't be the same floyd like in his other fights--

hell, don't forget the coralles fight, hernandez fight, carlos gerena, castillo first fight, and of course the corley fight--which is why i wish he never left 140 but nobody wanted to fight this kid---including kosta---he didn't want floyd--he wanted hatton--never floyd---he never even said floyd's name like that---

so floyd has had exciting fights--it's just that he is so despised it's easy to call him anything other than positive things---none of thaT MATTERS WHEN HE GETS PAID THE MOST AND GETS HIT THE LEAST---AND STILL DOMINATES EVERYBODY--MANNY WHERE ARE YOU LITTLE PUNK ASS SISSY----
