this is just a government shakedown. Pure politics nothing more. Manny might have to pay some back taxes or something like that but hes not going to jail. Theres not a rich person on this earth that doesnt try to get out of paying taxes on some level. thats why you see all this athletes/rich people giving so much to charity. Because its a tax write off. Not because they want to.

US tax laws are the fuccking worst, who would model their after the US is insane.

I have a good idea of the tax situation in us. Compared to pi, it is tax heaven. Lolz. At equiv of 1k usd, you pay 32% in tax. It is ok if you got a good return but... ****ty roads, outdated infrastructure, virtually inexistent public education and healthcare.

Anyhow, i believe this is more or less a political issue. Our current president is on a rampage for those connected to the previous admin. Too long to explain. Besides, it is Pi problem.

No, the reason his being investigated is because they found "discrepancies" in his submited documents that appear criminal.

and even if these so called discrepancies show manny actually not paying the proper taxes, all it takes is have the accountants do what they do and pay the fines if any.

maybe you guys are making this such an issue because you are thinking with the american mindset with your hellish tax laws that nobody fully understands.

we in the philippines are more fortunate in having more lenient tax laws that allow taxpayers more leeway in adjusting erring tax payments.
