Boxing Truth Video - 119 Clinches by Alexander

Way too much clinching. It's illegal and it's clearly in the rules. Sad to see what boxing has become.

I disliked the way he fought as well.

It's pretty damn sad when your entire strategy revolves around clinching, when it should be more about out-boxing the damn opponent.

Officials and fans are too lenient on the clinching. It is totally illegal yet nothing is done about it.

Unfortunately this keeps happening. Clinching like this is not "fighting at close range" this is just holding and clinching and is illegal.

As long as the ref allows it, it's a great strategy. If Cotto would have clinched vs Marg the first time or many other fights like that they would have won.

It's the ref's job to stop that, not the fighters.

It was noticeable, but I still thought Alexander fought a great fight and a pretty exciting one. I've been hard on Devon but credit where credits due, he stood in there and ****** it out. No pitty pat punches in this fight, he was landing clean and hard. He clinched a bit too much but not enough to take away from his performance IMO.

                That's just ridiculous.

It ain't a "great" strategy. It's cheap and corner-cutting. Refs are garbage.

^^^ it's like guys who can cut a ridiculous amount of weight to stay at a division. If you can do it, and get away with it, why not?

Completely irrelevant to clinching as cutting weight isn't illegal and is very difficult.

As long as you're cutting weight without using illegal substances it's perfectly legal and can infact hurt a fighter more than help them at times.
