Comments Thread For: Manny Pacquiao: Mayweather Doesn't Want The Fight, I Want It

WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao doesn't believe Floyd Mayweather Jr. was ever serious about fighting. After years of failed negotiations, Mayweather actually spoke to Pacquiao on the telephone last month - and offered the Filipino boxer a flat fee of $40 million dollars - with Mayweather keeping 100% of the pay-per-view revenue. Pacquiao shot the offer down, and had his adviser, Michael Koncz, present a counter-offer of a $50 million dollar guarantee, with 45-45 split - and the winner would grab the final 10%.

although both are to blame - Pac is right about this point. cmon - a flat fee. I dont even wanna here anything else from all those floyd fans. bc floyd had been screamin for years - TAKE THE TEST. now as soon as manny agrees to the test completely, floyd makes an issue of the $ - u gotta be jokn, floyd

                Does anyone care anymore?

It's a shame that 1. We'll never know the full details (they should make these sort of transactions/deals open in public) and 2. We'll never get a real answer to who will win & so therefore *******s & *****'s will infest this sport long after Pac & May have retired.

flat fee is ****** but is that what was actually offered? cuz when they interview floyd, floyd said he offered 40 mil with the back end to be negotiated. i think floyd just said 40 mil but didnt mention the back end revenues and manny just thought he was offering 40 mil flat.

that would never work. the publicity of it all is what makes it the most difficult imo. making any type of business negotiation public is just a horrible idea.
