Since Wlad is so anxious to fight small fighters (trying to now fight Toney and Byrd), how would he do against a really good and strong small fighter in Evander Holyfield '96/97?

I think He would do ok, I'm not sure about the outcome though. Stylistically, this is a very bad matchup as you saw what Lennox did to Evander.
If Wlad allows himself to get roughed up on the inside, then Evander would knock him out.

Originally posted by BloodshedHolyfield always had a good chin, but damn Toney tore it apart and Lewis couldnt do **** to him.
Holyfield had gone waaaaayyyy down hill since those Lewis fights, with that horrid Ruiz trilogy.
Not the same ball park.

I agree, but both Holyfields were both past their primes and Lewis's power and size against an old, but not so old Holyfield makes up for the later staged Holyfield that Toney saw and knocked down.

I look at it like this.
Holyfield-Lewis... went 12 rounds both times. Old Holyfield... much bigger stronger Lewis.
Holyfield-Toney... TKO 9. Old old Holyfield. Weak small Toney.
Lewis' great size and power advantage is offset by Toney because Toneys power at heavy is dismal.

It doesn't work that way.
The Holyfield that fought Toney was twice as punch drunk, 40 years old, his reflexes (ability to avoid punches) and ability sustain an attack had gone way down hill.
Toney fought a much more faded and ill equiped Evander.
