GBP did the same thing with Marquez and Mosley.
Basically since Bob had his panties in a bunch when it came to working with GBP, Oscar and Co. stated they would set aside to allow JMM and Shane to get a Pacquiao fight.
But at the time, Arum said "its too soon.."

floyd fans are still on the "blame arum for the fight not happening".
arum is a big time promter...that's what he do. floyd on the other hand is a fighter. problem is floyd also wants to control the promotions of his fights. of course that doesn't sit well with arum if floyd wants to fight top rank fighters because floyd is taking his profits away. they both mean business and want more money...nothing wrong with that but this "blame arum" excuse is getting old.
if floyd will only let arum promote the fight, arum will make the fight in a heartbeat. he hates it so much when floyd brings in gbp though which is understandable. so the problem really is not just arum but both arum and floyd...and their business conflicts.
the notion that arum doesn't want his fighters or his cashcows to lose to floyd is ******ed. arum is a veteran promoter to know that loses suffered by ppv fighters doesn't really make a big impact to their ppv potential. tyson lost to douglas, dela hoya against trinidad and to a lesser extent cotto against margarito and hatton losing to floyd. they're still ppv stars after the loss.

What was Floyd trying to do in fighting a 140lb version of Cotto who wasn't fully developed as a fighter, who's best when was a faded DeMarcus Corley and was struggling to make weight?
The time to fight Cotto was the 147lb version who had just came off an impressive string of victories against Judah, Mosley etc.Last edited by Khalid X; 02-13-2012, 01:48 PM.

They blame Arum (who I admit is a douche bag) for all of their troubles and everything that is wrong in boxing.
It's fvkin pathetic.

yes because a promoter promoting a fight is bull*****
and floyd hires gbp to promote his fights...dunno why
i got no love for that old a$$ arum but i got a clear grasp of reality...floyd doesn't want arum to earn money from his fights. of course that's his prerogative and you can't blame him. at the same time arum would rather do in house fights if he could make more profits than co-promoting a big fight but would make less money...can't blame him as well. it's all business.
