KENNEDY MCKINNEY: “FLOYD IS TOO PICKY…THE ONLY FIGHT HE WON’T DO IS PACQUIAO”
    February 8th, 2012 | by Felix Strunk

“Floyd is too picky and he wants all the money. He won’t split the purse 50/50. Floyd wants 60/40 or 70/30. I mean, damn, give the people what they want! There is enough money for both of you guys to share it 50/50,” stated former super bantamweight champion Kennedy McKinney, who shares the opinion of many that Floyd Mayweather is now to blame in the latest round of botched talks for a mega-fight with Pacquiao. According to McKinney, although Mayweather is undefeated, he can’t give him credit as a great fighter if he doesn’t fight the best out there.

“What the **** is the problem? You are already rich and a millionaire, man. I mean, you don’t have to have all of the money. It’s a political situation. Me personally, I think Floyd…and I know the kid. I know his uncle’s Jeff and Roger and I know his dad. Floyd wants to retire undefeated and the only fight he won’t do is Pacquiao,” McKinney explained during a recent interview. “That’s the fight that would make him. That would make him a great fighter to beat Manny Pacquiao. Until he steps up to the plate and makes the fight, I can’t give him credit as a great fighter. He is a very good fighter, but fight the best out there. I didn’t back down from anybody.”

While it’s clear that McKinney thinks Mayweather needs Pacquiao more than he thinks, he also thinks Pacquiao needs Mayweather just as much. “I mean, Manny needs him too. Manny needs to step up to the plate,” he continued. “As far as the talk man, everybody is talking about that fight and I got into it too. They are the best fighters in boxing and they make all of the money, so I think they definitely should be fighting each other.”

Pac was always a good brawling fighter but he turned into a star because of the Mayweather saga! it wasn't until they started calling floyd's name that anyone fell in love with Manny. It's not that difficult to understand; one fighter never lost and is the bigger ppv draw, the other fighter is supposed to be the one to dethrone the king. It's so simple!!!!Number 2 has to give way to number 1!!! When oscar was the king and Floyd was the threat to Oscar , nobody said "come on Oscar, give the challenger 50/50". Number 2 at the time had to do what number 1 wanted to make the biggest fight so if these people weren't haters, they would apply pressure on Manny to accept 60/40 and make the fight!!

        There's a HUGE difference.........

What you are saying is a little different then what ha[ppened between Floyd and Oscar. Oscar made Floyd the multi-millionaire he is today. He is the single reason for his lavish life-style but you won't ever hear him admit that. After he beat Oscar, he learned what made Oscar such a huge star. He started to duplicate that formula and it has served him well. The difference between Floyd and Oscar is simple, Oscar took challenges and fought the best.

As far as comparing Manny to Floyd when Floyd fought Oscar is crazy. Floyd was making $3-$4 million a fight before he fought him. He was in no position to dictate. Oscar was the best opponent he'd ever faced and was the star at that time. Manny was as well. Floyd and Manny are already proven stars and Boxing attractions. The fight has to either be 50/50, or 55/45, winner take's the lions share. Makes sense? I think that this proposal of 55/45 should happen more in Boxing. If a fighter is confident of victory, sign that contract! You can't go pricing yourself out by demanding 70/30 or 60/40 when the guy you're fighting does bigger pay-per-view numbers than you do! It just doesn't make sense. I've always said that when a fighter starts concentrating to much on the money, they eventually will fall. Now Floyd just blew the biggest fight that he could be in by demanding thngs and trying to dictate. He must of forgotten that it takes two to make a fight, meaning you have to be a professional and not an ignorant and arrogant fighter like he is.

*****s: no, Floyd is just trying to clean up sport he just want an even playing field.

If PAC was the one who magically requested for ost out of all the years he's been fighting *****s would flip the script and say that's a duck move. Just think about it PAC is suppose to be easy work I repeat EAZY work but Floyd is making it so hard to fight someone who is suppose to be a walk in the park.

              You agree???

Wait! So you agree as well? He doesn't want to fight him! IS he afraid he could lose? Because for everyone saying how easy a fight it would be for Floyd, I highly disagree. PAC is a warrior and he comes to get it! The fact that people think this will only motivate him even more. Look for a very impressive performance against Bradley! He will stop him.

At that time, Oscar was always considered the biggest draw even when he looses... So don't ever compare Floyd to Oscar coz Floyd knows once he looses that zero, his money-making capability will go down by more than 60%, or even more...

a boring defensive fighter doesn't even deserve 30 when it comes to pacman's popularity. not even close. pbf came out of retirement to prove nothing. he came out to settle his money problems. he was content fighting exhibition matches. he's an established ducker. fans knew that before he came back. he pretended to want to fight pac to become big again. roach chased him like a madman, which was a mistake.

easy fight easy money. take the test pac! i want $100 million! i want 70/30! no training in philippines! 14 days cut-off is off the table! no test, no fight! may 5, cinco de mayo, take it or leave it! 50/50 is off the table!

man, when are you kids going to understand that pbf wants none of pac?

They said the same thing about Cotto, then *shazzam*, Miguel becomes a free agent and the fight with Mayweather magically appears.
