Why do people talk about Pacquiao like he's a legend?

It's obvious really, when he attempts to fight fighters with heavy hands, he gets shut down. His record makes him look better than he is. He had 4 big fights, and lost 1, and recieved a draw on one. And 2 out of his 3 losses were Knockouts in the third round.

And what's wrong with a guy who lost via knockout in the early part of his career? Pacquiao has proven he belongs up there with the best and toughest, given the right atmosphere. He has learned his lessons.
The ******* in your avatar got knocked out by a supposedly "one-dimensional fighter" in the latter stage of his career. He will never learn his lesson because the guy is simply incorrigible. Although in fairness, I enjoy watching him fight just to see him get pummeled to death one day.Last edited by nelsoncm; 11-22-2005, 09:03 AM.

He's a legend to, & amongst, Pinoys....& that is totally understandable & acceptable.
For non-Pinoy boxing fans, like myself....he's a terrific, exciting, & balls-out fighter who HELPS the game. He helps with his ferocious style & his ambition.
No, he's not a "skilled fighter", ala Floyd & Hopkins (most aren't), but he is certainly more skilled than the average fighter. If he wasn't....he would not be as successful as he's been.
I only have taken issue with his rabid fans, not he himself. His fans are a tad too enthusiastic, which can interfere with logic & analysyis, at times.

This guy is a nobody, he doesn't deserve to be in the ring with half the people he fights (Morales) and it goes to show, because Erik punked his ass.
