Comments Thread For: Pirog Waits for the Champs, Considers Possible Retirement

Dmitry Pirog will seriously consider retirement if a bout with one of the middleweight stars isn’t secured in the near future. Pirog (19-0, 15 KOs), 31, the reigning undefeated WBO middleweight champion of the world, was featured as a hero during a specifically designated press conference to honor him as the best Kuban sports person in 2011 (Kuban is a huge river in southern Russia, a native land for Pirog). The media meeting took place in Krasnodar, just near his hometown of Gelendzhik.

Fight Felix Sturm or Andy Lee, or something like that. This guy has one victory over Jacobs, wants Sergio to fight him in Russia, and acts like he's being avoided.

But he's willing to fight Sergio in the US....

How many wins did Barker and Macklin have?

          Sergio should fight dude.

pirog should take the short money and get something done. What a waste of momentum of this guy and he can be a special talent too. Drives me nuts, he's got a style that should appeal to people who love the sweet science and people who love aggressive fighters.

            Pirog.

Just keep fighting. You will get a shot eventually if you keep winning.

            You only have 19 fights.

If Sergio can´t get Floyd, he should fight Rubio for the title and then Pirog in the States. IMO Pirog is at the same level as Andy Lee. I would prefer sergio fighting the Russian cause he has a title but Dibella will surely push for a Lee fight.

This dude is one of the most cold-blooded dudes in all Boxing. It's no surprise that he can't get a fight, he's so dangerous.
