It's a moot point. They're gunna come out of the woodwork and talk about how they agreed to everything now that a fight has been signed. Floyd will do the same. It's the same old story, but nobody here caught the "Bob probably would have gone with it". Basically, it was never going to happen. What, Bob not part of the negotiations? Lol. As if he'd agree. Remember, Bob came out and flat out rejected Floyd after the so called call (if I remember correctly)...sooo...... Good luck trying to spin that one.

But yeah, the whole stadium thing makes no sense.

The stadium was going to be built..when floyd didn't want to fight in it and already had a venue with a date? Is that the excuse they're going to use when we see Pac fighting...not in a stadium in june? Come on, the brunt of the blame is pointed directly at Arum. Arum under no circumstances wants this fight yet. Unless they fight in June 9th (while he's in prison lol) like he offered.

The sad part is we might never see this so called super fight.

I think Cotto destroys Mayweather. I thought Ortiz was coming along with his pressure and was making Mayweather very uncomfortable, until he lost his head with the head butt, he probably got too excited.

I also expect Pacquiao to retire after this year. Might see another Pacquiao Cotto fight in November.

Another Pac - Cotto fight in November..at 147. >__>.... Well, that's too bad. I don't see Cotto coming close to winning this fight but we can dream. Cotto should go for broke with his last few fights. Fight Floyd, if by some miracle he wins(because honestly, I don't think Cotto could have even beat Floyd in his "prime") then he fight Martinez at 154...and goes down as the best of his era. Who cares if he lost to Pac... That's the type of run you can proudly retire on. Too bad I think Floyd will tko Cotto and Martinez would put cotto to sleep. :|.........

Btw, PacAnthem...you're going to take an advisor's word and call it facts? lol. There is some clear bias if you're preaching his words as true and immediately discounting what Floyd said as false. All he basically said was "we had some talks, couldn't agree on everything, and I still had to ask bob in an event we DID agree on anything". It's nothing new. Floyd basically said the exact thing, they couldn't agree on the pay. Lol. I don't get the logic...

We informed Bob of our weight. To give away 10 to 15 pounds on night of the fight is dangerous to Manny. Because if you get caught on the ropes like he did with [Antonio] Margarito, and you get hit by an extra 15 pounds - it hurts. Manny and I made an agreement after the ****rito fight, that we would never fight above 147-pounds.

For some reason, Marquez has Manny’s style figured out. That would be Manny's decision, but I’m sure not going to recommend that we fight Marquez. If that’s what Manny chooses to do, then that’s going to be his choice.

Now if this ain't proof that their keeping Pac safe then I don't know what is. They didn't want Pac to fight above 147 because there is a chance that he might get hurt so technically they were nervous of Cotto and that could have been the case in the first fight and that's why they demanded the catch weight after Manny fought Oscar at 147. I think both camps egos, politics and grudges killed this fight so in no way can Koncz say that they were the ones pushing for the fight because Bob Arum used the media big time to negotiate the fight.

I know professional marketing/promoters and do marketing/promotions myself and what Bob Arum did, was use Floyd's name to promote and make Pac the man that would beat Floyd Mayweather Jr by beating guys Floyd beat in a more entertaining fashion (Mosley took a dive). Note that Floyd was semi retired two times and not talking in the media when Bob Arum was really pushing for the fight. Pac is afraid to move above 147 because he might get hurt and has been told not to choose Marquez because he has Pac's style figured out who is his same size but from 2 divisions down. Floyd is fighting Cotto at 154 for his title and Pac couldn't? If Pac could really beat Cotto so easily then why not fight him at 150/154? Pac is the biggest protected fighter in the history of the sport. Dude is a cash machine for Arum/Koncz and they're just protecting the investment.

Interesting read. Seems pretty obvious that Mayweather's whole baiting of Manny was a PR mission only. You can't cut a PPV star like Manny out of the PPV revenue, especially when this fight is guaranteed to be the highest-selling pay-per-view in history. Who does he think he is, offering a $40 flat sum? That's ludicrous. Manny's suggestion of a 55-45 split, with the winner receiving the larger share, seems entirely fair. He didn't even have to offer that concession.

And to those that rubbish this story, Floyd is on record as offering Manny 40 million as a flat sum to make the fight happen, and he's on record as spewing nonsense like "Manny only made $6 million" on his last fight". So he clearly thinks he's doing Manny some sort of favour by offering him $40m, even though repeated sources have valued Manny's purse to be between $30-40 million for his last fight.
