meanwhile, pacquiao-bradley is being discussed... now thats a letdown for real.. all bradley had to do to get a shot was beat casamayor and duck khan.

mayweather-cotto at 154 is a great fight quit whining..it took cotto to leave top rank to make it possible, think about that for a minute, bob arum is hurting this sport badly, when he dies it will be a good day for boxing that is. it took jm marquez to leave golden boy to make the trilogy possible in novemeber.

cotto is coming off his greatest victory vs margarito which was also revenge, so his confidence must be thru the roof now, and hes more comfortable at 154 and floyd is willing to gain the pounds to meet him there. when he fought pacquiao he was forced to drop to a catchweight and was coming off a questionable win vs clottey which i felt he lost.

floyd did the same with ortiz when he was coming off his greatest victory vs berto and mosley when he came off his greatest win vs margarito.. so floyd keeps proving the point that he is better than pacquiao.

Like I said years ago, Bob has an agenda and Mayweather was never on it. Bob Arum and Team Pac once again exposed even more.

Good for Cotto on getting this pay day and getting revenge on a cowardly POS like Margarito. Problem is, Cotto's still not the same since Margarito made him quit.

However this doesn't change the fact, Cotto would have never beaten Mayweather back in the day at JWW, WW or now at JMW. He's a glorified Gatti and May 5th will only display a small glimpse of how bad Mayweather would have beaten him years ago....

At the end of the day, since pac allowed Bob to duck this fight yet once again, Cotto is better than anyone else at JWW, WW and JMW. Only option that would have been better is if Mayweather had moved up even further to fight Martinez (who's already scheduled to fight at MW).
I wonder who WESS is going to pick for his list of Quotes when this is all over. lol!

Here's what you have to say about Cotto when the talk was about him fighting Pac:

When Pac fought Cotto at 145, Cotto was a WW champion and weighed 146 lbs. in his previous fight with Clottey. Going 1 lb lower is no big deal. Taking a dump and pissing before the weigh-in is more than enough to solve that problem.

After losing to Pac, Cotto decided to move to LMW and has since successfully fought there three times and won a belt in the process. He is now a legit LMW.

Meanwhile, Pac, a naturally small man for a WW, fought bigger guys and even tried to move to LMW. Although he won that fight against Margo, it also made him realize that WW is his limit.

There is no question that if Pac fights Cotto now at 147, it would be to his advantage. Cotto would be ****** to fight at that weight, not unless he wants to take a gamble and go for the money and pray that he wins.

However, if the fight is held at LMW, it would be to Cotto's advantage. Should Pac acquiesce to this, then the ******ity factor would now lay on him. He is not after Cotto's belt and neither is Cotto his only option. Pac brings the most to the table and he will probably earn the same if he fights either Marquez or Bradley. There is simply no logical reason why he should surrender the weight advantage to Cotto just to make the fight.

Under these conditions, the fight really had very little chance of materializing.

Bro before cotto faced pac, Cotto fought Clottey weighing-in @ 146lbs. When he fought Pac he weighed-in @ 145lbs. A pound of difference ain't too much of a factor.

Fast forward 4 years: Cotto is more has always been a legit welterweight fighter who now is fighting in a 154 lbs coz Right now he is a Blown up 154 where he is actually a natural welterweight who just aged to higher weight coz that's what old men have deal with when you age you gain more weight. All it says is that Cotto is Old.
