Cotto is a good guy. He made no excuses after the first fight about the weight even though I believe it did affect him. I just don't think he has the style or stamina to beat Pac. He's a wear down fighter and he also gets tired. Pac, overrated as I think he is, can take a punch, does not wear down, and is a blood and guts warrior. I think he's full of sh-t, I don't buy into his nice guy facade and he's a diva when it comes to negotiations, but I can't take that away from him. Cotto doesn't have the one punch to turn this fight around and once he gets tired, Pac will swarm him. Again.

also there wouldve been a penalty stipulated in the contract had cotto come in over 145...how's that for an incentive to keep ur weight down when fighting for ur career highest purse?

It's not like Mayweather wasn't coming back from retirement against Marquez...

If a guy makes 146, I just don't know how it kills him to make 145, 6 months later...

It's all excuses, Manny and Team Pac aren't *****ing about the Marquez CW altough Manny won by narrow decision and looked like cat shyte.

When Cotto makes 145 this poor Miguel is drained, and when Manny makes 143 for Marquez, it's all damn good.

        cotto

Cotto was not weight drained. He fought manny the same way he fought others. He back peddled in the later rounds. That was mannys first fight at that weigh (really at the weigh in). Cotto only had to lose 2 pounds and then rehydrated. He just lost. Now cotto might have to lose 4 pounds to fight Floyd. That is worse. Mrhroughanny saw the effects of gaining weight to his body which cannot gain anyway. He fought Margo at 150 but came in at 144 and he took a big pounding from margo and does not want to put himself through that again. Just like cotto does not want to come down, he does not want to go up. You have to respect both of them and accept it.

Ditto. I hope Floyd isn't desperate to take that fight even though his other opponents options aren't good. If Pac-Cotto II were to happen, it'd be great to see how the fans and media outlets try to spin it as a great fight.

He said "AGAIN"....When did he do it the first time?

And, yes at 147 Cotto more than like would be drained and it would benefit Pac TODAY. It's been a couple years since Cotto fought at WW. So I can't say that it won't hurt him. But, was he drained or did he sacrifice his body the first time. No, and do I feel he can beat Pac at 154? No. You disagree? fine.

This rematch is useless, I hope it doesn't happen at any weight. Let him fight Floyd. And, hopefully Pac finds his nuts and fights Bradley.

I just want to know a simple question.A simple one.

By your logic like you've stated.Pacquiao pulps Cotto again, beats the breaks out of him, beats him at any weight, yada yada why is Pacquiao insinuating the fight be below Jr MW level?

Just a simple response I'd like to get from you.

its not like mayweather doesnt always stay always in shape and walks around at 150 when he's not in camp...even when he fights just once a year tops

difference: manny comes in at 143 for most of his welterweight fights

did it kill cotto to make 145? no not if it was a 5 round fight. it did actually hurt him. how much? we'll know when they fight at a weight both fighters are comfortable at...cotto was not comfortable at 145

would he beat manny > 150? possibly not, but he'll definitely do better and most fans are dying to find out

                Somebody enlighten me. But isn't Cotto free from Arum's contract now. Very stand up thing Cotto is doing here with Pacquiao. Too bad he's a hypocrite when it came to trying to drain Margarito as much as he could though;

I believe this fight will happen simply because Arum wants to make sure Manny look like Superman again, and this fight will do just that.

He'll fight Pacquiao under 150 if the fight happens.
I have found no reports which verify that the WBC threatened Cotto with being stripped. I've looked for days. The last time I know this happened was 100 years ago in the bad old days, victimising Joe Gans. Maybe it's a story spread by anti-Pacquiao/pro-Cotto fans.

Because that's whet Manny wants to be. He said before and after Margarito that he wasn't gonna fight over 154 or at 154. Team PAC ain't ****** they don't wanna be going up and down in weight as they face a mega fight as well.
