Floyd and GBP is in a really awkward situation right now. It must be noted that it was GBP that booked the 5th of May and not Floyd. So it's GBP that has contractual obligation with MGM on May 5 and not Floyd. Fighters cant book fighting dates, Promotions do. The problem here is that while Arum could guarantee Pac his purse, GBP is not willing to guarantee Floyd's. While Arum is willing to buy-out the other side and guarantee Floyd's purse, Arum would then be asking for a share of Floyd's pay which we all know Floyd would never agree. If GBP has to offer their fighters, the only available fighter that could make most money is Canelo Alvarez.All other GBP fighters( Maidana, Khan, Ortiz, Berto, Alexander) are booked or have just fought recently. But it has been rumored that Canelo asked for too much money and Floyd not willing to give.

Floyd's really in a very awkward situation right now and Arum is actually laughing. Arum and Pac would NEVER agree to his imposed 5th of May.Never would Arum be DICTATED by Floyd.NEVER. And if he would not agree to Arum's May 26th, who is he going to fight if Canelo is asking too much? He could not fight Martinez who already has a scheduled fight.Guerrero has also been taken-out of the list.OTOH, Pac could fight either Cotto or Bradley and can easily earn 25M to 30M. (Marquez out with crazy demands, and Petterson to rematch with Khan). So Floyd's only VIABLE option is to accept Arum's May 26, and if he could not find somebody to guarantee his 60M purse, he has to agree to Arum's offer and give Arum part of his purse. As what Rafael Mendoza said, Floyd is used to control and dictate practically everything whoever he fights,and he has done it to all his previous opponents. And he even said once that he wanted to control boxing . He simply can't do this on Arum. Arum's 4 cards according to Mendoza trumps all Floyd's cards. Arum simply body-slammed Floyd to a very awkward situation right now and showing Floyd who is the BOSS. Well,other option is, since Floyd is not contractually obligated to fight on May 5 He could forgo May and report for prison on June 1, get out 60 days later and fight Pac on November.Hoping of course Zaragoza won't impose additional 90 days for failing to fight on May as promised. And that's why Arum is already contemplating a first week June fight for Pac knowing that if Floyd finally will fight Canelo on May 5 , Arum could no longer schedule the fight on May since HBO won't do two major PPV fights in a month.

This is an easy one,well in either case floyd has go swallow his pride to up stage top rank. Give alvarez a few more million (its better than giving bob a cent) fight him, beat him, then move on to to martinez we know chavez jr doesn't want none and sergio is desperate to get on ppv he will take peanuts for the fight. What is Floyd demanding? To fight May 5th, that's the biggest fight day, he got the date set up all by himself, and is inviting Pac to be his opponent. That's all Pac has to do. The venue and date is already all laid out to take place

How is inviting Pac to be in a huge money fight a bad thing?

What does Floyd know about the business side of a promotion anyways? Anyone with common sense knows that 45k seats will sell out easy for this fight, even at top dollar. So why would you not want to do that? People are getting too emotional and losing their common sense.
