Comments Thread For: Peterson: I Don't Lay Down, I'll Give Khan a Rematch!

Amir Khan went down to a shock points defeat by Lamont Peterson to lose his WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles in a pulsating fight in Washington DC. Two points deducted from Khan for pushing proved crucial as the judges scored the fight a split decision with cards of 113-112, 113-112, 111-114 in favor of the local fighter. The Briton knocked Peterson down in the first round, but the American launched huge attacks in the third and seventh. Khan recovered, but a docked point in the final round turned out to be fatal.

Yeah, a rematch would be fine, but get a few easy fights first. Defend you title, make some easy money and then fight the rematch.

Peterson is in-line to make some serious bank in a rematch. There will probably be a bidding war between Top Rank and GBP to see who gets Peterson next, Bradley or Khan.

Maybe there was a rematch clause too.

Peterson says he's willing to go to UK for it.

But let me ask you something.

If Khan would have got the decision by a hair, would there be any talks of a rematch?

              I don't think so.

The ref robbed Peterson of a legit win. When has a fighter ever been taken points away for pushing to get distance from being rushed in on? It happens all the time in fights.

Like Merchant said, "It's boxing, cmon, pushing happens"

If there is a rematch, keep hometown refs out of it.

might just be my opinion, but i felt like peterson didn't do enough to win. he would've lost with tonight's performance anywhere else. let's hope he has an even better performance in the rematch. khan certainly will prepare for the rematch. can't wait for it.
