Being ahead in a fight that only went 6 rounds doesn't mean anything when you're TKO'd because your face was pounded into a grotesque bloody pulp.

The thread starter says, Vitali was close to becoming a "myth".

I'm inclined to think, he already has become one-- and at the farthest point to becoming a legend.

Unless one talks about legendary cop outs, then, looks like many shall be on his case.

at least Tua beat a legit champion in Ruiz. LOL! Ruiz has amazing resume. NUTHUGGER!

He lasted 12 rounds with Lewis showing how one dimensional he was by losing every single round.

Vitali went 6 rounds with Lewis busting him up, and proving his critics wrong, only to be stopped by a "CUT".

Tua got another boxing lesson by Byrd, looking like a complete ameatur

Vitali man handled Byrd for 9 rounds with one arm, only to have an "INJURY" to stop his run at an easy UD victory

and those arent excuses those are "FACTS".

Ruiz also has losses to Evander Holyfield, Dannel Nicholson, some Russian dude, Roy Jones Junior a former middleweight, and James Toney another former middleweight.

              Impressive in deed.

I agree the cut was severe, and Vitali still managed to win majority of the rounds with his vision damaged. Imagine what he would've done to Lewis if that cut was never there.

the fact that toney and jones were are former middleweights only makes their versatility more impressive. it does not make ruiz' loses to them worse than losing to a natural heavyweight.
