The HD version of Klitschko-Leapai in our videos section is crystal-clear and well worth downloading.

One boxingscene poster "joe strong" has been lying in several threads about the venue being half-empty, but with this HD version shows the upper rafters and every seat was occupied.

I realize some people don't like Wladimir Klitschko, perhaps because they envy his success. But it's very low of "joe strong" to LIE to discredit the heavyweight champion on a public forum on the world's most popular boxing website.

Joe was lying. The truth is, the venue was completely sold out three weeks before the fight.

Klitschko-Leapai was a soldout arena about 3 weeks before the fight. And did almost 9M viewers on German network RTL.

German TV audience 4 Klitschko-Leapai was reportedly almost 9M. To compare, most viewers for US TV fight in '13 was about 1.5M for HBO show.

Joe may exaggerated that the crowd was half full or whatever but he is more than correct in saying the fight would have packed out at an Australian stadium.

True, but that's irrelevant because the fight packed out a German stadium. Download the HD video and watch it. It was filled to the rafters and it was a very big place. Joe repeatedly kept posting it was half-empty, that was a lie.

The fight time in Australia wouldn't have fit with Wlad's contract with RTL in Germany and IHTEP in Ukraine. Both networks had about 9 million viewers.

Wladimir may be hated by pot-bellied middle-aged men in North America, but he is VERY popular in Europe. Like Rafael said, there's no reason for him to fight anywhere else.

I have a problem with exaggerations and mis truthes when they are blatant lies.

The fight was aired on PPV in AUS and NZ,the Oceania revenue alone will have made more from the German contract offers to Klitschko, which I believe is 15Meuros over 5 fights, looking closer that 3M per fight.it mattered little where the fight was held.to take the fight to Australia would be a huge gamble IMO,especially on the back of the lacklustre showing from the Povetkin,Wladimir fight.a roadshow to Australia would possibly have sold out a 60k seat stadia, yet there certainly no guarantees of this.

After a much more exciting performance like the one against Leapai,I believe it would be better suited to take the show on the road.it actually makes little sense in taking the fight to Australia when they can sell 40k at home easily, and maybe a possible 60k when abroad.
