Unification is the best thing we can get right now. The division is weak, but we certainly do not need 4 champions. Now, we are one step closer to one champ.

....The bottom line is that three of the four champs are a ****ing joke and if not for the grace of Don King and shady refs they wouldn't and shouldn't even have crowns right now. I would much rather see Wlad/Brewster or Wlad/Toney or Brewster/Toney, or Wlad, Toney, or Brewster Vs. Rahman than some bull**** tourney where Byrd and Ruiz end up fighting each other or Rahman. **** that. If he has a tourney and goes straight to it then the division is going to suck much worse than ever. He could also stall on the unification and end up giving guys like Golota shot after shot. The later may be more believable. King is going to control everything and truly suck the remaining life out of the heavyweight division you watch and see. Hell, Wlad's only chance right now at a meaningful fight is to go crawling to King and make a deal with the devil. I suspect King would welcome him with open arms BTW. If he was ecstatic about having Golota how the hell do you think he will feel if he has Wlad?

Either way, you seem to think that by pointing out how weak some of the other fighters are, that somehow makes it better that Vitali had two fights against two fringe contenders in two years and was about to be out for another year.

He wasn't fighting at all, when he was it was against poor opposition, and now that he's elected to allow things to move along without wasting anyone's time,

we're going to see unification fights next year. That's what needed to happen, and now it is.
you keep pinning this hope that we will see some unification fights... dont count on it.

you and everyone else is just using vitali as a scapegoat to lay the blame on for the pathetic state of the HW division.

yes, vitali fought poor opposition. but byrd fought worse and yet i dont see you flaming him.

Now all 4 men that hold titles will fight eachother, and we'll have a unified champion.

This is something that wouldn't have happned if the WBC remained on life support with Vitali.

It's got to get worse before it can get better, and now 2006 will see unification fights.

This is the best thing that ultimatly could have happened.
yea because don king has the blts and you that what he wants

holyfield actually beat ruiz... thats just ridiculous.

            johnson's a bum.

            toney beat ruiz's ass, too.

            oquendo's a bum.
i said fought the best opposition, not defeated.

it shows he is willing to defend his title against anybody.

btw if johnson wasnt so damn lazy he could be champion, other than maybe toney, johnson is the most skilled heavy out there.

King announced his plan for a tounrnament the moment you could smell something was going to happen.

He plans on holding one like that which saw Tyson winning the titles, or when Hopkins unified at Middleweight.

It IS going to happen, becuase it makes the most sense financially.

You're just upset about Vitali, and looking to be bitchy and argumentative.

Face it, the bottom line is that the titles needed to get unififed, and now they are going to.

Vitali retires, and the Nut Hugging leigon wastes no time moving right to exclusive talk of Wlad.

Wlad has been dropped 9 times in his last 7 fights, stopped twice. He's in no position to be handed title shots.

I have nothing agaisnt Wlad. He's big, skilled, fast, but he's very vulnerable.

The only fight I want to see Wlad in is a rematch with Brewster.

Outside of that, he (nor his fans) are in a position to be demanding he fights anyone.

In his last fight, he was dropped 3 times by a very green fighter in a fight he was lucky to escape with a win.

Wlad is a technically gifted fighter, but he's always one punch away from stumbling all over the ring.

And yet another bunch of opinions dressed up as facts by the village crackpot. There is no guarantee that any of this will happen, it's just wishful thinking on your part, and until it happens, it will remain as such. Even if they do unify, what's a unified champ worth, really? A unified champ is worth whatever he's worth as a fighter, if he's not that great a fighter then his worth as a champ won't be that great either. Vitali's retirement is just what it is, if he sees that he's not going to be able to fight in the near future, then by all means get off the pot and let someone else fight. But when someone starts saying that Rahman getting a belt is going to come anywhere near being any kind of start towards getting the HW division straight, I have to say that's bull****. Even if that statement wasn't motivated by hate, it would still be bull****. Brewster is the only beltholder that's even worth a ****, and he'll be dominated by Toney if they ever fight. Toney stands a good chance of being humiliated by Byrd if they ever fight, and Wlad I'm fairly certain would outpoint either of them. The division is still a huge Question mark, same as it was yesterday, and it will be for quite a while, with or without VK.

King makes a ton of money in these situations.

Just look at the last one he did at middleweight.

It's no secret he's been wanting to do this at Heavyweight.

You are just bitter and jaded, and repeating the only point you think you have left.

King is going to do what makes him the most money.

This tournament is the only thing at Heavyweight that's going to sell PPV's.
