The Marga******s are angry because Margarito got owned and was not allowed to continue, but that stoppage was 100% justified. The stoppage was in the interest of Margarito. Any more punishment and there's a strong chance Margarito could have been permanently blinded.
As for Cotto, it was pretty much a perfect performance. Sharp jabbing all night, beautiful combinations, great footwork. Margarito was barely touching him. There was no indication whatsoever Margarito would have done anything effective had the fight continued. In fact, the signs were showing that Cotto was just going to inflict further punishment and probably force a stoppage.

Margarito had his chance to prove to the world that he could beat Cotto legitimately and he got his ass beat, end off. When alls said and done he got KOed by someone who hits like a little girl.
This is true. The wraps or whatever had no effect on the fight. He was landing big punches on Cotto from the start of the fight. In this one, he was too slow, didn't throw the same amount of just didn't have it.
The best part though was that Cotto obviously looked at both Mosley and Pacs fights and used things from both. He clinched finally, he turned him and didn't lay on the ropes. It's good and Cotto should feel super proud.
I kind of feel bad for Margarito for some reason. Unlike most I don't think he had anything in his gloves except for in the Mosley fight because they knew he was in such ****ty shape and might struggle so trainer put some **** in them. It wasn't his gloves, or power or lack thereof because of any plaster. He was just not as good whereas Cotto had learned and still had nearly as much as from the first fight. Good speed, excellent power, and had finally learned to move a little bit less but while clinching and turning Marg properly just like Mosley did.
I was about to say the same thing about the Pac and Mosley fights as well.
I also was impressed with how that cuban coach help incorporate subtle changes to Cotto's game such as pushed back then firing combos out of the break, pushing Marg forward (almost a laso like move) when Miguel's back was against the rope and getting back to the center of the ring, and also how cotto lean into Tony's chest to take away his signature uppercut.
Cotto looked brand new. The best I've seen him since he lost to Margs the first time. I thought Margs was going to destroy him again but I admit he kicked Margo's ass bad.
-He didn't brawl (because he'd probably lose to Margarito in a brawl)
-Circled around the ring
-Stayed away from the ropes so he wasn't getting hit with those uppercuts like the first fight
-Counter punching, targeting the eyes
-Left hooks/jabs
-Getting on the inside while avoiding letting Margarito get on the inside
He was stopped by the doctor because Cotto was punishing that eye all night long until it was completely shut. Thus the stoppage was a result of the Cotto, since it was he who inflicted the damage to close the eye on the night.

Yea, I think what Cotto did best were the combos after the clinch. I've loving the butt hurt Marg fans in here. BWAHAHAHA!!!! Cotto looked fantastic and his only "legit" loss is to Manny. Cotto is a beast and an ATG, period.
