Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is hungry to put on an impressive performance on Saturday night, as he defends the WBC super welterweight title against the experienced former champion Kermit Cintron of Puerto Rico. The fight takes place at the Monumental Plaza Mexico in Mexico City. "Canelo" trained very hard ta the Pancho Rosales Gym and looks to stay on weight for Friday. Maybe sooner. The only thing with Cintron is his inconsistent performances, so damn unpredictable. He had good or decent performances against a lot of very good opposition and then he has looked like dookey against opponents you would have thought he would have dismantled. If he brings it he has a very good chance of derailing Alvarez but I like this kid, he's not hype. They are keeping Alvarez active pacing the quality of his opposition well and he is still young and getting better and stronger.

lol chu talkin' bout willis? alvarez stays active - more active than most fighters who make the kind of money he makes per fight. . . i think he's just a naturally big guy - very muscular and beefy - not fat. . . his build is just that of a natural middleweight. . .

Alvarez came in overweight for his title match against Matthew Hatton.

Alvarez had to lose some weight before weighing in the Rhodes fight.

Alvarez finally came in weight during his fight against Gomez.

Looking at it this way how is Alvarez being more active than most fighters?

He only fought 3 times against mediocre opponents. Matthew Hatton a lifelong Welterweight fighter. Ryan Rhodes an aging Junior Middleweight fighter having a slight notoriety in his name. To add substance to Canelo's resume GBP added Alfonso Gomez.

Whatever, I'm not sold in Kermit Cintron. Cintron feasted on smaller fighters to make a name for himself but against taller fighters he looked human. Cintron has no power in Junior Middleweight. Ask Molina about Cintron's powerful fists.
