I think we all can agree this was not one Mannys best fights. He still got the win but come on there was so much hipe on manny knocking him out he was going to finish him early. That was not the case the fight was a close fight with a Verry controvercial End to the fight. If he would have just followed his corners instructions the outcome may have of been different. I also think he over trained for the figh.

Honestly this was pacmans mistake I do agree he could have give. Manquez a run for his money if he would have followed Freddy's instruction. But the question can only be awnserd by pacman him self. In my opinion manny has lost his will an hunger in boxing and he may thing he is better than his core er With Acting singing politics game show host. I disagree, what does his "distractions" have to do with not being able to move to a particular direction. It's a simple f**kin' move.

If you look at the first 24 rounds of Dumbquiao against Juanita, he basically does the same exact thing, which is move in the wrong direction, that's why Juanita's lead rights have been highly effective. Was Dumbquiao distracted then ?

Hell, come to think of it, Dumbquiao's foot speed and erratic movment has been confusing everybody else that it really didn't matter which way he was moving, but against a calm, cool and collected boxing technician, like Juanita, he was able to spot those bad habits, and sharing the ring w/ the same fighter for 24 rounds has helped out as well, lol.

Great thoughts as usual Lorily. To be honest.. I have no idea why Pacquiao was not following one of the most basic things any boxer should know. He was walking right into Marquez shots.. Pacquiao made it much harder on himself, but I can't take any credit away from the way Marquez fought. Maybe Manny just isn't that intelligent of a fighter.. but to not be able to follow such simple/basic instructions? At the end of the day though, both these guys will always have close fights.. Their styles just seem to be perfect for each other for an even match up.

He could he would have. I'm getting fed up of people saying things along those lines, Pacquiao looked different against Marquez because Marquez would take a step back or slip when Pacquiao landed the first shot, preventing the follow up combination.

In the early rounds Cotto planted his feet and tried trading with Pacquiao which allowed the former to circle him. If he'd take a step back, his angles would open up and it would be easier to view Pacquioa's movements.

Exactly standing like a statue in front of Pac is a recipe for a loss. He didn't listen to Roach because it's always easy to say you should do something it's always harder to actually do it. Marquez didn't allow pac to get to his right end of story.

Whether Juan allowed or not. One thing is clear, PAC simply made no real effort to combat it.

He made an effort but it wasn't working he simply doesn't have the acumen to outbox JMM. Stop trying to take credit away from JMM he put on a great performance and schooled pac. This is what happens when you don't stand right in frond of pac, and try to block punches with "heart" lol.

Dude, he hardly made any effort. End of.

Dumbquiao will always have a difficult time against counter-punchers, but, fighting the way he does just makes it even more difficult against them. That's all.

Freddie told Manny several times throughout the fight that he needed to move to his right, but Pac continuously kept moving to his left. He wasn't really circling, persay - it was more like he was "drifting" left then it was circling (IMO). Most of the time when Manny threw his punches he was also dipping to his left, which played into Marquez's right hand power shots. The few times when Pac actually did go to his right, and when he threw combos and dodged out to the right (which was rare), he would make JMM miss most of the time. And also, when Pac did go to his right - with the way JMM's stance is and with the feet placement between a southpaw and conventional fighter, it made it harder for JMM to move at that angle. I noticed it so early in the fight that it was frustrating the hell out of me. I can't for the life of me figure out why Manny didn't listen to Freddies advice on that. It seemed like Manny hardly used any angles against Juan at all, which is bizarre IMO. With JMM being such a supreme counter puncher, he was able to come back and catch Pac with 2 or 3 good counter punches almost every time Manny would throw anything.

Do you think it could have made any significant difference in the fight if Pac would have listened to Roach's instruction regarding that?

In addition: After just watching the replay of the fight on HBO tonight (Side note: they showed a few things from the 24/7 angle like they did in FMJ/Ortiz) - a few things of interest that I hadn't seen during the PPV....

After they showed the scores and announced Pac was the winner, the 24/7 camera panned to Alex Ariza - who clearly mouthed "Whew!" and made a motion of wiping sweat off of his eyebrow (and then he laughed). I thought that was kindof telling of him to do that.

After they showed Pacquiao was the winner, the camera went directly to Marquez's corner and Bob Arum was in there talking to Juan. I don't think I've ever seen Bob go to Pacs opponent before going to Pac first. Odd for Bob? It looked like he was saying something serious (Probably something like "Juan, think of all the money we could make with a 4th fight.")

And perhaps the funniest thing (IMO), was when Max was interviewing an all-but(t) naked JMM in the dressing room, after the fight. Max would ask Juan a question, look down at that sombrero, and then embarassingly look away. At one time, even chuckling before asking the next question. Max looked hella uncomfortable, especially since Juan had his legs stretched out and laid back, looking like he litterally just got ****ed LOL.

Get thsi he hires a team to help him figure out why hes getting ****ed, and then when they find he's being cheated, no one gets fired!!! lol, he couldnt make the adjustment... But wait for it, he fires the team that found the cheating going on (which was their job) and fires them, and get this he ends up owing them money because he borrowed from them!!! lol HE CANT MAKE ADJUSTMENTS.

4.) WHEN TALKING POST FIGHT HE CANT MAKE THE ADJUSTMENTS IN SPEECH EITHER..
We simply get uhhhh and ahhhhh from him and of course , "DEPENDS ON MY PROMOTER BOB ARUM"

5.) CANT MAKE ADJUSTMENTS WITH HIS LIES REGARDING TESTING, AND WANTING TEH FIGHT.. ON JIMMY KIMMEL?? WINNER TAKES ALL, AFTER MARQUEZ SPANKS, HIM HES NOT TOO SURE, AGAIN IT DEPENDS ON BOB ARUM HIS PROMOTER..

6.) AND IN THE FIG HTS, HE ONLY FIGHTS X1 WAY, I HAVE NEVER SEEN HIM ADJUST!!! EVER!!!! HAS ANYONE SEEN HIM ADJUST?? OR HAVE YOU ALL WITNESSED HIM FIGHTING SLOWER OPPONENTS AND SIMPLY BRAWLING GETTING HIT MORE THAN HE SHOULD CONSIDERING HE HAS ALOT MORE SPEED THAN MOST??
