    I heard that Spanish ESPN analyst say that Pacquiao beat some guys at the higher weight that JMM wouldn't dare step in the ring with. I'll reserve comment about that until after tonight. Cotto and Margarito got blown out by Pacquiao, but I think JMM is gonna be more competitive with Pacquaio even if he loses. And may the best guy win tonight. Don't have a big rooting interest. Both fighters are warriors.

      I don't buy that. If Bob Arum can pull off Pac fighting a banned WW at JMW CW for a JMW title. He could have made this fight between LW and JWW while putting Pac's belt he won at a CW to the side. If what you're saying is REALLY the case, they could have done a CW of 140.1. They made it at 144 because its comfortable for Pac and JMM the LW Champion looked horrible the last time he fought above 140. It's whatever JMM agreed to this just as he did in the Mayweather fight. Just sucks for real fans who have followed these 2 and get the final fight at WW..

      Bottom line, if they are truly the same weight, than 135 is where this fight should have been. Its not and its because Pac wanted a slow, bloated version just like Mayweather requested.

        Well it's understood that Bob is good at what he does that's why he can pull of those BS moves. Unfortunately he's a very good but extremely shrewd businessman. Considering the catchweight of 140.1 for the WW title, technically that is possible and would have also been preferable, but we all know JMM doesn't have the negotiating power compared to Pac. Pac's team did choose that weight to their advantage.

        Im really hoping that JMM built up weight properly and handle the weight better this time. As a fan I just want it to be competitive, it's just because the two have such rich history between them and like you said earlier would be a waste if it ends with one not performing well at all. But he looks too top heavy and I highly doubt he'll be quick and agile enough. Here's to hoping that JMM proves me wrong tonight.

          many are saying JMM is not a Welter but PAC is also no longer a LW, would this fight be better for you guys if this was at 140?

          do anyone wants to bet that this fight will be close as long as it last? i am betting this will be close until the first knockdown...

            I feel ya, but I just don't see that going down. However if somehow JMM manages to never hit the canvas but still loses, that's a victory in its own. I hope JMM the best!

              Well yes! Meet half-way. JMM is a 135 fighter and Pac a 147 fighter, why not meet at 140?

              I agree with you but as soon as Pac asserts himself more I just see JMM breaking down.
