Marquez couldnt touch Floyd cuz they are almost similar, they are Chess Players in the ring, except Floyd is the King of that style.. while Manny is a Checkers Player, which is why he only looks good when his opponents trade wild blows with him (Cotto, Margarito, De La Hoya-even tho he was dead at 147) and he looks like hes confused against a thinking Boxer like twice with Marquez, Morales in their first fight just counter punched him to death, when Clottey opened up he Landed at will, go look at Pacquiao's face from that night in Dallas..

its obvious they made it a point to wait til Marquez got a lil older to make this happen, which is what theyre trying to do with Mayweather by saying ''hes becoming more hittable now'' but they never step up cuz Floyd leaves Boxing for 16 months, comes back and performs like he never left, dude is scary...

i want Marquez to Win and hes more than capable with his counter skills, but the thing is if he does win, the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight would really never go down

Styles makes fights. Marquez who is a known counter puncher and strives against opponents who would take the fight to him. Against Floyd, he was the one leading and engaging the fight. You would think that a guy who has a size advantage would be the one taking it to Marquez. But he didnt.. It was the other way around.


Pac's face was beaten up against Clottey because he allowed himself to open up so that he can force Clottey to engage in a fight. He didnt have to do that because he was winning anyway. You think Floyd would do such thing.. I dont think so..He likes to play it safe.

And please dont comment about the Dela Hoya fight unless you can have a post wherein you actually thought that Pac is going to win BEFORE that fight..Because I dont recall you talkin a lot of game before that fight took place.

Who are you, some kind of promoter? Why do you care about "The fans perception" of Marquez, you're not promoting the fight and neither is Ariza, he doesn't work for Top Rank and he can say whatever the hell he wants. This fight doesn't need any fake build up because Marquez is a true pro, there's no need to convince the fans that he's a worthy opponent cause he's been proving it his entire career.

JMM is a pro and a warrior, just as he was in 2009 or any other time in his HOF career. Nothings changed. This is what Ariza is saying, on top of JMM going to get Ricky Hatton'd. Which is what the majority of the fans think, even JMM fans, like myself.

The only people saying that this fight is going to be competitive is Bob Arum and Pacfans (just like they did vs Mosley) to attempt to give the perception that Pac is somehow fighting a better version than what Mayweather did years prior.

Now since you missed Ariza's point, He like everyone, is saying Pac is going to destroy JMM. It's just crazy that *******s are getting mad at other fans for saying Pac is going to destroy him..

Manny, a devastating puncher?? Come one, man. When was the last time he KO'd anyone with one punch? Sure, he beat Shane, Margo and Cotto, but landed a lot of punches to do it. If he hits so hard, maybe he should fight heavyweight.

Has anyone read the new Rid**** Bowe Biography "Triumph and Tragedy of Rid**** Bowe"? That book is the best boxing book out there right now, anyway, in it, the author Christian Vick talks about nuances of the trilogy. Evander and Bowe staged perhaps the last three match set and I believe a school of though explored in that book applies here. All this talk about Marquez being Cannon Fodder or an easy walk in the park is unrealistic and extremely dangerous. You can never underestimate your greatest rival. Ali had Norton, Bowe had Holyfield, and now manny has Juan. He may be older, he may be a little huskier, but he is still the same fighter that took you to hell and back twice. Knockout? I think Manny better concentrate on landing his right hook and evading uppercuts. Rid**** Bowe was almost knocked out of the rubber match with Holyfield, a fight he was heavily favored in. He underestimated Holyfield before the fight, and during the fight. Manny had better believe the same could happen to him if he sleeps on Juan to the degree that is being indicated in this article. He should win the fight, but he could really struggle to do it if goes in expecting an early easy knockout of a fighter who have never been knocked out period.

Yeah, but Bowe & Holyfeild were both heavyweights. 2 weight classes divide Pacman & Marquez's optimal fighting weight.

Both Ariza and Roach have a tendency to sound really disrespectful against great and really good fighters. It's more ok when Roach does it cause he has great knowledge of the game but Ariza should just stay quiet.

Te Roach and Ariza are like that becasue their own careers are inextricably entwined with Manny P, and they are training him day in, day out, watching, noting, caring, nurturing, altering, criticizing, training, trainng training, building confidence etc. So why the hell should they NOT have the UTMOST confidence in their own man, for who's success they can each claim a share.
