Pacquiao Packs an Economic Punch in Las Vegas
    Published: November 10, 2011
    The New York Times

    ...

Kizer said the buzz surrounding fight weeks has come later in recent years, starting a week before, not three. Yet this fight sold out two weeks after tickets hit the market, for a projected $11.8 million in gross sales, which would rank ninth for all fights.

The commission, Kizer said, receives 6 percent of the gate, in addition to a $50,000 fee, good for $758,000, based on the projection. “One fight,” Kizer added, “basically covers our entire budget.”

According to TicketsNow, the average price of a Pacquiao-Marquez ticket is 42 percent higher ($1,049) than a ticket to Mayweather’s fight in September against Victor Ortiz ($610).

The Nevada Gaming Commission releases data monthly. In Pacquiao’s last triumph, a bout against Shane Mosley in May, the amount made by the casinos increased 28.9 percent compared with the same month a year earlier. That figure was boosted by a large baccarat tournament, which was helped by Pacquiao’s presence.

I've read an article by Kevin Iole once where he wrote that the Japanese high rollers always come to Las Vegas whenever Pac fights and the casinos have a huge increase of profits that specific month.

              Pac > Floyd = Gate #
              Floyd > Pac = PPV #

It's a fact. Now all you *******s and Floydiots can shut up.

According to Nevada commission, Floyd-Ortiz gate was exactly $9M (14th all-time in Nev) with 13,364 tix sold, 3,052 unsold, 1,268 comps.

So if the fight is sold out, How come it is only 2m more. There are about 3k of difference on ticket sold.

Even with the 80k tickets in fights at Texas. Pacquiao's gate is not more than Mayweather.

And lets not forget that the ortiz fight was on arguably the biggest weekend for boxing of the year and Pacquiao still easily outsold his ass

We know who the real money team is, Haters need to step their game up
