Floyd picking the date and place and basically announcing a fight that isn't even signed yet is a clear attempt to make it seem that the Pacuqiao fight is just another Floyd Mayweather Event; and that Pacquiao is just another bum coming with his hands out like Victor Ortiz.

"sport's biggest pay-per-view star is going to be back on May 5" c'mon man.

Once again ******* Floyd doing everything in his power to NOT make the fight happen.

Wrong the way I see it, Floyd is answering the public demands publicly, stating we have a date a venue, as you have stated you agree to the test, lets finalize the deal...

Thats what I got out of it

I'm excited to continue my relationship with Floyd and his team. It's always fun to work with Floyd."

But Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs), who turns 35 in February, announced last week that he will make the first defense of the WBC welterweight belt he won in September by stopping Victor Ortiz (29-3-2, 22 KOs) against an opponent to be determined on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Schaefer wants that "opponent" be Pacquiao.

"I think that Floyd Mayweather has made it very clear that he wants the big fights, and that he wants the biggest possible opponent. By that, I think that everybody knows that he means that the biggest possible opponent means that you've got to start from the top, and that's obviously a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight," said Schaefer.

"But that's assuming that Bob Arum wants to get the fight done. We're not going to be talking about that this week. This week, of course, the focus is going to be on Pacquiao's next fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. But after that, there will be plenty of time to talk about that match up between Mayweather and Pacquiao."

Clear semantics from Roach. Schaefer good enough for you?
strange... why has everyone ignored this?

What are you on? He reserved the venue at the date. That is going out of his way. That's something a promoter does, you know like Bob reserving a fighter to fight in a state he is still banned from. : D

I had and still have some doubt, but lately we have heard GBP and Ellerbe say the same damn thing basically calling out Manny for the fight.

Now we have Roach firing back talking **** about Ellerbe....

and all the sudden you all start posting youtube videos of Mayweathers past contradictions....

Do you guys really want to see this fight? or would you rather the fight not happen and talk **** and claim Floyd is ducking?

To me it seems that the *******s dont want the fight, I want to see the fight, were are the true Pacquiao fans at, *******s need not reply to this post... I want to hear the real fans cus this **** sounds legit to me and I am a known Floyd hater.
i also want to see this fight to happen, and i'm sure a lot of pac fans also want the same thing.

what i see here is that you have a lot of jaded/cynical pac fans who seriously doubt team floyd's sincerity in arranging the fight and point out their previous contradictory statements/actions to explain their doubt.

i WANT floyd to put manny on a corner and force him to accept a fight or vice versa.

personally, i think its come to a point where its a pride thing.

when floyd put up the random blood test, manny should have called his bluff and accepted the tests.

now that arum said testing isn't an issue floyd should call his bluff and start negotiations.

oh and reserving a date and venue isn't negotiating. its merely posturing, which BOTH camps are currently doing. NOBODY is making an effort to go to the other camp and see how a fight can be made.

honestly, i believe the younger, less prideful manny who beat oscar would have jumped at the opportunity to fight floyd, regardless of blood tests.

that's just posturing dude. reserving a date and venue is NOT equivalent to negotiating.

negotiating is when representatives of each party sit on a table and see how they can reach an agreement. after they reach an agreement, THEN you can reserve a date and venue.

but i believe that BOTH camps are just posturing. someone has to step up the plate and actually go to the other camp and start the negotiations.

so far, neither camp has done so.

nonetheless, i hope that all this posturing will actually lead to them negotiating (assuming manny wins this current fight of course!)

i don't think people are ignoring this. its just they're rather cynical now.

i do hope that this is a sign that floyd's camp is ready to start negotiations after this fight.

i'm rather skeptical myself, but i'm open to welcome any positive news towards the making of this fight.
