Comments Thread For: Klitschko vs Valuev Discussions Taking Place For Kiev

Reports coming out of Ukraine reveal that there are ongoing negotiations to match WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 40 KOs) against the 'Russian Giant' Nikolai Valuev (53-2, 34 KOs) at the renovated Olympiysky stadium in Kiev, according to Klitschko’s K2 Promotions representative Aleksander Krasyuk says. Valuev has been out of the ring since November 2009, when he lost a twelve round decision to David Haye. After his defeat, he underwent numerous surgical procedures to correct a few injuries.

He's negotiating with Haye as well -- but it would be cool to see him fight Valuev.

I think Vitali would dominate him, I think he would've beaten Valuev clearly a year ago but considering how long Valuev has been out of the ring, I think Vitali would give him a beating. The only thing interesting about this fight is that Vitali would be fighting someone taller than himself, apart from that I'd rather see him fight Haye.

I agree, this is one of the most intriguing heavyweight fights right now simply because of the size factor. Being that valuev is bigger it will be the first time Vitali has faced somebody larger and is one of the few fights that can actually enhance his legacy at this juncture.

I'd like to see Vitali brutalize either Valuev or Haye. Doesn't matter to me.

What, Valuev hasn't retired yet? Please don't make this fight happen.

If Vitali is able to make a tree fall in the ring, that would be hilarious. Might cause an earthquake in the arena!

And yes, Vitali would dominate and stop him if they fight. No doubt. Valuev will be in a world of hurt. The already super accurate Vitali will find it hard to miss that huge nugget of Niko's.

The only reason I wanna see this fight is to watch a tree fall. The KO will be Epic.

But I would rather see Wlad- Valuev since Wlad is a harder puncher and able to KO Valuev with 1 punch which will make him plank face first.

Vitali will just Briggs him for 12 rounds before Valuev quits in the corner.
