Hopkins was a newly made "partner" with Golden Balls, and every indication seems to be that Oscar dropped and pretended to be hurt, whilst ****ing on the canvas with his fist. It was a rotten fight and neither hurt the other, basically a sparring match.

He picked his opponents veeerryyy care-fully...... Unfortunately, not as carefully as Mayweather, because he slipped up with Trinidad and Mosley. After that he was just a very good fighter, but no longer the Golden Boy, and just made money fights.
But edgarg, just like Oscar lost some of the big fights against Sweet Pea and Quartey (IN SOME PEEPS EYES - in my eyes he won both) - HE WAS ALSO ROBBED of his fights against Tito Trinidad AND SHANE MOSLEY PART 2 (when shane was JUICED up to hell). .

Oscar fought the best of the best of the best. . . He is PROOF that a LOSS does not mean shyte!! i wish more boxers had his mentality. . .

the only "ONE SIDED" losses oscar had was hopkins and the one known as pacsmash. . .

Hopkins fight wasn't fair to him at all - fighting a MUCH bigger man. . and even then, he wasn't exactly getting completely shutout (until stoppage time). . .

Manny Pacquiao is the only man to have absolutely handled oscar. . . but yes, oscar was far from his best and the weight issue. . . OSCAR IS A LEGEND. . . A WARRIOR. . . beautiful combination puncher. . .

he's resume is very good but the second chavez fight was pointless. he very easily couldn't have lost to whitaker (not a prime whitaker) and quartey and refused to give either a rematch. never really seemed to want the trinidad rematch. he didn't want to fight mosley again until after he lost twice to forrest. vargas was shot. blatantly ducked winky and never wanted to fight vernon forrest. i would give him more credit for the hopkins fight if he didn't fight the whole fight scared and then take a dive. still, he's resume is very good but i wouldn't say better than holyfield, morales, barrera...

as far as winning their fights, i agree my boy check! but as far as just fighting the best, i think oscar takes the cake. . .

Plenty of fighters have better resumes than Oscar in the last 20 years anyway.

Maybe not competition wise. But, competition wise, Oakland Billy Smith could be #1 of all time. And he's not even a HOF'er..

                    a young undefeated cotto

margarito coming off his career defining win

not too mention two fights with forrest

and what about casamayor he has fought everyone

corrales 3 times, katsidis, marquez, guerrero, castillo ...etc

not as big names as dlh or mosley but some of the best fighters in their respective weight classes

morales and barrera deserve a mention aswell as does juan manuel marquez and bernard hopkins
That's not true, Oscar offered Winky a fight. And, it was Winky who turned it down.

                    Floyd beat him pretty lopsidedly.

And, how wasn't it fair for Oscar? it was at a catch-weight that favored Oscar more so than B-Hop.

And, shoe shine flurries are not beautiful combinations...Look at JMM or Finito to see beautiful combination punching.

And IDH is right...there are fighters in the last 20 years who have better resumes than Oscar.

Oscar fought everyone, and gave the fights the fans wanted. Cant say the same for Pac and Floyd these days. Heck same goes for guys like Bradley. The ones that hate him and discredit him are the ones that ALWAYS hated him, because he was a pretty boy that could fight.

As for whoever said Mosley is better...PFFT!!!!! Mosley's whole career is based off of his first win over Oscar, and his gift rematch decision. Mosley lost to Winky, Forrest, Floyd, Pac, Mora (he deserved a loss), Cotto. Heres the catch.....besides Cotto....all his losses, hes NOT EVEN competitive in. Oscar was in EVERY fight except Pac. Even Hopkins, which i said, Oscar has no business fighting him, as size is just too much, was holding him own until body shot. Mosley's wins over Vargas (he was done), and Mayorga were nothing special, as Oscar had already killed them.

Oscar was the last of a dying breed.....guys who fought for the love. Since Oscar left, weve had to endure crap like, Pac vs Mosley, and Floyd Vs Ortiz. You aint got to love him, but you need to respect the fact he was great for the sport...more so then these divas today.
