Also, in their past two fights at 154, Lara has taken on the tougher opponents. Williams, who Cotto never wanted any of, and Carlos Molina who I think would beat Cotto worse than he beat Cintron. Lara would make easy work of Foreman and Mayorga. I don't see Cotto lasting all 12 against Williams and Molina.

So because a guy looks good against his first fight after Sergio makes him some sort of a monster? Williams is more open to a straight left than any other punch to any fighter in boxing, its embarrassing really. He is a solid fighter, but his style is not one that gives Cotto problems, Cotto by decision it'd be close but Cotto would be widely regarded as the winner, somewhat like Cotto/Mosley fight.

Stylistically, the fighters who trouble Cotto most are sturdy pressure fighters with power. Lara is not a pressure fighter, nor a big puncher, if anything, he's the antithesis. He also lacks an inside game and seems to have stamina issues. Cotto has faired best against economical counter-punchers like Lara. A fighter like Alfredo Angulo would be all wrong for Cotto from a stylistic point of view. Lara would be made to order.
Seems like a lot of people haven't seen Lara outside of the Paul Williams fight. Dude is a very ordinary fighter with little pop. This is the same guy who should have a L to Carlos Molina and made to look ordinary by Grady Brewer, who rocked him twice. He just happened to be at the right place at the right time when he fought Paul Williams, who was essentially a shell. Though the judges ****ed him over. So out of the three notable names on his resume, Lara's looked like **** against two of them, only performing well against the one whose career appears to be over.
