In boxing, if you get hit from the back, shame on him. Get hit from the front, shame on you. That's the way I see it.

so if your opponent gets low blow from u and he's grabbing his junk and u straight threw a right hook right on his chin while he's doing that, this wouldnt be a sucker punch either right because its from the front?

a sucker punch to me is when the other person is not ready or is not aware of it. it doesnt matter if its from the front, back or side. a sucker punch is when someone is unaware of it. so lets say im walking towards u and im all like aye whats up bro how u doing then BAMMMM u sock me right in the mouth. this wouldnt be consider a sucker punch to u? lol..

stick your glove out to touch up only to pull back and punch the other guy in the face, not a sucker punch...

I agree. A sucker punch is when you're not aware of it. The thing is, its boxing. Victor should have been aware of it. If you're not aware in boxing, you're in the wrong sport. If you're in a ring, and you're both wearing a pair of grant gloves, there is a ref, a timekeeper on the outside, 3 judges, commentators, and audiences, chances are...you are in a boxing match. So yes, if the ref says "let's go!" and then you come up and say "aye whats up bro!" and then punch me, I wouldn't consider that a sucker punch. I should have been aware, it was fair, shame on me. Fight first, apologize later. And trust me, Floyd doesn't have to accept the apology. There is no rule in boxing or anywhere that says a person has to accept any apology. Let's be real.

Yeah I meant in the street. Sucker punches exist outside of boxing and MMA. But once the ref says "lets go!", there is no such thing as a sucker punch from the front.

Cant believe y'all trying to argue that that wasn't a suckerpunch. Seriously, if Ortiz did that to Floyd, and Floyd suffered his first loss, y'all would be petitioning to have Ortiz banned from the sport. Fools on here would talkin bout putting an asterisk on they records, But since the outcome was in Floyd's favor, alls fair. Was it legal? Yes. Was it a suckerpunch? Hell yes!
